Google SketchUp 7 (http://sketchup.google.com/product/gsu.html) is a free fun 3D modeling application that allows you to mock up designs of objects, buildings, or almost anything else you can see. You can use SketchUp to draw 3D neighborhoods, for renovating a bedroom or kitchen, building a bookshelf or table, designing a bicycle and much more. Your local government can even share 3D data by adding a city model to Google Earth. If you have some time on your hands and want to have a great visualize experience, this is a fun play. There are sample models of rooms in the Google 3D warehouse that make me want to move in right now. There is also Google SketchUp 7 Pro that has many more features and for a price if you have a commercial intent.
